Small Claims Court

The Small Claims Court is the most frequently used court system in Ontario. It is reasonably inexpensive compared to other, more in-depth court proceedings. It can usually resolve and conclude your case in a shorter amount of time than that of the higher courts.

The maximum you can sue for in Small Claims Court for each claim is $35,000.00. However, many people who have settlements with more significant amounts, decide to sue for the maximum amount in Small Claims Court. This is due to the time and cost benefits, which can save money and time for those involved.
